Frequently Asked Questions
Can anyone purchase a record?
We are trying to build a community of artists, vinyl collectors and music lovers, so anyone who fits into any of these categories is welcome to purchase from us. “Flippers”, i.e. those intending to sell purchases for profit, are not welcome at V Records.
How can I purchase a limited or special edition record from the store?
Records will be under the “Releases” tab, sorted by the release. The newest release will appear at the top of the “Releases” page at the scheduled drop time. Each release will have a drop-down bar to select the vinyl variant you wish to purchase.
Are there any purchase limits to the amount of items I can buy?
Yes, any purchase limits will be displayed on the release purchase page. Wax Mage, Liquid-Filled, and any other handmade records will always be limited to one per address. Failure to follow purchase limits will result in your entire order being canceled and refunded.
How soon will my order ship?
V Records will never do a pre-order for a vinyl release, so all records available for purchase will always be in-hand and ready for prompt shipment within 2-3 business days. If you do not see any movement on your shipment tracking after 5 business day, please reach out to us at vrecordsusa@gmail.com.
Can I cancel my order or change my shipping address?
Orders will ship shortly after being received, so making an alteration or cancelation to your order may not be possible. If any changes are needed, reach out immediately at vrecordsusa@gmail.com and we will try our best to accommodate you.
What is your return policy?
We invite customers to preview the music digitally before purchasing a vinyl record, therefore you know exactly what you are getting. Returns will only be accepted if something arrives damaged that we are unable to replace. Vinyl is not a perfect medium, so a return based on a record having typical vinyl characteristics like some light surface noise, a few “pops”, etc will not be granted.
My item arrived damaged, what should I do?
All vinyl orders will be shipped in a vinyl mailer with the record outside of the jacket to prevent a potential seam split. If your order arrives with jacket damage, please reach out to us at vrecordsusa@gmail.com, we likely will be able to replace the jacket at no charge to you. If the vinyl is damaged – warp, scratch, crack, or any other damages effecting playability – let us know and we will try to replace it if we have any inventory remaining, otherwise we will refund you for the item.
Why does my vinyl look different from the store photos?
Handmade records are all unique in appearance. Some may be slightly different while others may be drastically different. If you are purchasing a "Random Color" vinyl, it is exactly that, completely random and could be solid color transparent or opaque, colorful, full of texture, or anything in-between. We will do our best to showcase photos that we feel does a good job reflecting the variant as a whole.
How can I inquire about purchasing in bulk for a physical record store, etc.?
Send us an email at vrecordsusa@gmail.com and we will see what we can do!
Do handmade records sound as good as machine pressed records?
Inherently, handmade records are prone to more potential surface noise than machine pressed records. If you are an audiophile that is looking to get the record variant with the potential for the best sound, you should stick with black vinyl over handmade records.
